Château des Vigiers forms the centre-piece of a spectacular 27-hole golf course. The course opened in 1992 and was designed by Donald Steel, who is considered one of the very best “natural” golf course architects. Arranged in three 9-hole loops, giving three 18-hole combinations, our golf course was rated in the top ten courses in South West France.
Other golf facilities include a 6-hole academy course, a covered driving range, practice greens and bunkers as well as resident golf Professionals, making Vigiers an ideal place to begin or improve your game.
When asked by Golf World to name his favourite hole from his long career, Donald Steel chose the eighteenth at Château des Vigiers, with its dog-leg over a ridge for the second shot over the lake on to the green; finishing in front of the Château. It was subsequently described in Golf World under the heading “Vintage Finale”.
With the addition of the new 9-hole course, Vigier golfers now experience a much wider variety of playing conditions. The new course opened in early 2008, and integrates into the existing 18 hole course to form 3 new 9-hole courses: “La Vallée”, “Le Lac”, “Les Vignes”. Golfers can now play three different configurations of 18-holes, each with different challenges and gradients.
These training courses are aimed at players who hold a green card or an official handicap. You can subscribe to our group lessons or opt for individual lessons.
