Winter precautions:
- In the event of frost, the courses will be closed until the frost has completely thawed.
- The use of golf carts will be decided on a day-to-day basis with the greenkeepers. Please stay on the paths and drive on the roughs as much as possible when golf carts are permitted.
The greenkeepers work all year round to keep the courses in good condition. The winter period allows them to carry out maintenance work on specific areas, ensuring that the courses are in good condition for the rest of the season.
In particular, they have been able to work on the irrigation system to ensure that everything is in working order when it is switched on next summer.
The sprinklers on the greens have been upgraded to improve the quality of watering.
A few trees near the Lake greens have been felled to allow more light onto the greens, improving the quality of the grass and preventing competition between the green and the tree for water and fertiliser. The roots of these trees can cause disease and gradually damage the greens underground.
Successive topdressing (sanding) operations are being carried out on the greens. These interventions refine the planimetry of the greens, hardening them and improving drainage. This also alters the thatch, which decomposes more quickly and prevents disease.
We will keep you informed of the progress of the various works on the courses in the coming months.
